What applies

• Contact the Department of Environment or an authorised collective system to register the producer and agree the reporting route. A non-established direct seller should confirm and document its local representative arrangement.

What to prepare

• Legal company name and registered address
• Company/trade registration number
• VAT or tax number
• Contact person, email and telephone
• Brands/trading names
• Packaging types, component materials and weights
• Country-level annual quantities by required reporting category

How to submit

1. 1Confirm that the company packs products or first imports packaged products into Cyprus.
2. 2Choose an authorised collective system or obtain approval for an individual system.
3. 3Provide company identity, brands, packaging materials and annual quantities.
4. 4Submit annual data and pay the applicable scheme fees.
5. 5Retain the permit/membership, declarations and audit or recovery records.

What to keep

• Department/approved-system registration or membership evidence, annual quantity report and scheme confirmations.
• Submitted quantity declarations and acceptance receipts
• PRO/EPR scheme contract and invoices where applicable
• Representative mandate and confirmation where applicable

Ongoing obligations

• Report packaging placed on market and the required recovery/recycling data through the approved collective or individual system route.
• Update the registration when company, representative, brand, packaging stream or contact information changes.
• Reconcile national reports to sales and packaging bills of materials; retain the submitted values and official result.
