What applies

• Join an approved eco-organisation covering every applicable packaging category. The eco-organisation registers the producer in SYDEREP and communicates the IDU; a collective-system producer cannot self-register directly.
• Registration route: self service plus pro or epr scheme

What to prepare

• Legal company name and registered address
• Company/trade registration number
• VAT or tax number
• Contact person, email and telephone
• Brands/trading names
• Packaging types, component materials and weights
• Country-level annual quantities by required reporting category

How to submit

1. 1Identify each French packaging EPR filière/category that applies.
2. 2Join the approved eco-organisation(s) covering those categories.
3. 3Provide legal identity, SIRET for French entities or foreign VAT/tax identifier, address and contacts.
4. 4Receive and retain the ADEME IDU for each applicable filière.
5. 5Declare annual quantities to the eco-organisation and display/communicate the IDU where required.

What to keep

• A packaging-filière unique identification number (IDU/UIN) issued through ADEME, plus eco-organisation membership and declarations.
• Submitted quantity declarations and acceptance receipts
• PRO/EPR scheme contract and invoices where applicable
• Representative mandate and confirmation where applicable
• This country action guide and supporting source documents

Ongoing obligations

• Declare placed-on-market quantities to the eco-organisation in its material/category schedule; the eco-organisation reports into SYDEREP. Retain the IDU and annual declaration acceptance.
• Update the registration when company, representative, brand, packaging stream or contact information changes.
• Reconcile national reports to sales and packaging bills of materials; retain the submitted values and official result.
