What applies

• Assess the Irish major-producer thresholds and join Repak where required. Below-threshold businesses must still retain sufficient packaging records and comply with applicable packaging rules.
• Registration route: self service plus pro or epr scheme

What to prepare

• Legal company name and registered address
• Company/trade registration number
• VAT or tax number
• Contact person, email and telephone
• Brands/trading names
• Packaging types, component materials and weights
• Country-level annual quantities by required reporting category

How to submit

1. 1Calculate annual turnover and tonnes of packaging supplied to determine major-producer status.
2. 2If a major producer, join Repak; self-compliance through a local authority is no longer available.
3. 3Provide company, packaging-material and annual-tonnage data.
4. 4Submit declarations and pay Repak fees.
5. 5Retain membership/certificate, declarations and invoices.

What to keep

• Repak membership/certificate and accepted packaging declarations. Major producers cannot use the former local-authority self-compliance route.
• Submitted quantity declarations and acceptance receipts
• PRO/EPR scheme contract and invoices where applicable
• Representative mandate and confirmation where applicable
• This country action guide and supporting source documents

Ongoing obligations

• Submit packaging placed-on-market data to Repak in the applicable reporting cycles and retain membership, declaration and invoice records.
• Update the registration when company, representative, brand, packaging stream or contact information changes.
• Reconcile national reports to sales and packaging bills of materials; retain the submitted values and official result.
