What applies

• Apply for entry in BDO through the competent voivodeship marshal before starting the regulated activity. A foreign entity must use the available foreign-company/representative route and verify signing access.

What to prepare

• Legal company name and registered address
• Company/trade registration number
• VAT or tax number
• Contact person, email and telephone
• Brands/trading names
• Packaging types, component materials and weights
• Country-level annual quantities by required reporting category

How to submit

1. 1Apply for the relevant BDO register sections for packaging/products in packaging.
2. 2Receive the BDO registration number and place it on documents connected with the registered activity.
3. 3Maintain packaging mass records by material.
4. 4Submit the annual BDO packaging report and settle the product fee or contractual recovery route.
5. 5Retain the BDO entry, reports, fee payments and recovery documents.

What to keep

• BDO register entry and BDO number, followed by accepted packaging/product reports and fee/recycling evidence.
• Submitted quantity declarations and acceptance receipts
• PRO/EPR scheme contract and invoices where applicable
• Representative mandate and confirmation where applicable

Ongoing obligations

• Maintain packaging records and submit annual reports in BDO by the statutory deadline; settle product fee or recovery obligations and keep the BDO number on relevant business documents.
• Update the registration when company, representative, brand, packaging stream or contact information changes.
• Reconcile national reports to sales and packaging bills of materials; retain the submitted values and official result.
