Private seller or professional seller?
Do not start by assuming every account is a business
An occasional person selling an item from their wardrobe is not automatically an economic operator or packaging producer. Commercial stock sourcing, Pro status, business volume and organised resale point to a different analysis.
Vinted’s own Pro terms describe a Pro seller as someone listing items as part of professional activity. Open the current Vinted Pro terms (opens external website) to confirm the platform status, then assess packaging separately.
Second-hand goods and a new parcel are different questions
Original packaging around a used item may have entered the EU market in an earlier transaction. A professional reseller should not automatically issue a new manufacturer Declaration for packaging it did not design or control.
The parcel used for the new sale is separate. A mailer, box, label, tape or cushioning added by a business can be current packaging. Start by naming exactly what the business adds.
A reused box is not automatically a reuse system
Using a box again is environmentally useful, but a legally operated reusable-packaging system has defined circulation, return and repeated-use arrangements. Record the actual facts instead of applying a blanket exemption.
What Vinted’s public guidance currently covers
Vinted’s public pages explain Pro seller status, catalogue rules and how sellers package and dispatch orders. At the last review date, those pages did not provide a complete dedicated PPWR workflow comparable to some platforms’ Germany or France EPR pages.
That does not remove duties created by Regulation (EU) 2025/40. Check Vinted Pro account notices, seller terms, country-specific compliance requests, official national producer registers and the current PPWR text.

Record the parcel formats the business actually uses
A Pro seller does not need a new packaging record for every order where the construction is genuinely unchanged. Create representative setups and update them when the material or format changes.
